De Peinder Mieden is a robust and innovative way of development of nature, between Opeinde and Drachten in which you can live on a limited scale. 87 hectares of agricultural landscape is developed back to nature with up to 45 building plots of 1,000 m2. That is 5% of the total area. This Dutch area is a characteristic and protected awls zone landscape and part of the protected nature area called Noardlike Fryske Walden.

Developed in Collective Private Commissioning, according to the concept ‘Nieuwe Marken’ of landscape design office Stroming. Supported by landscape design office Stroming, the municipality of Smallingerland and Innovation Centre Agro & Nature of the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
